BB: God put Virtue Beauty on my heart long before I understood why. I launched the brand in January after feeling a nudge in my spirit to create something that blended beauty, faith, and purpose. I had no idea that just weeks later, I would be diagnosed with breast cancer. Looking back, I can clearly see God’s hand in all of it, preparing me to create a clean beauty brand that aligned with my story and my body’s needs.

Years earlier, I had walked through a long fertility journey that tested every ounce of my faith. After years of waiting and praying, I had my miracle boy at 45. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of caring for our bodies and the impact of hormone disruptors. Virtue Beauty was born from that realization: clean beauty isn’t just makeup, it’s stewardship.

Q: What made you decide to infuse your spirituality into the Virtue beauty brand?
BB: Because Virtue Beauty was never just about makeup. It was a calling. I’ve always believed that beauty and faith can coexist powerfully when rooted in purpose. I wanted to create a brand that points women back to the source of true beauty: their Creator. Every shade, every product name, and every campaign are intentional, meant to remind women that they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Q: What has been the most exciting part about running Virtue Beauty?
BB: Watching God move through it. Every order and every message from a woman saying she feels confident and radiant again feels like a small miracle. Seeing women light up not just from the gloss but from feeling seen, loved, and reminded of their worth in Christ is the true glow. What humbles me most is realizing that this message is reaching women all around the world. Something that started as a small step of obedience in my home has become a movement that’s uniting women through faith, confidence, and clean beauty across nations.

BB: Virtue Beauty isn’t just clean, it’s called. We are a purpose-driven beauty brand built on transparency, integrity, and intention. BB: Courage to show up as myself. I don’t filter the hard parts of my story; I share them because they’ve shaped my faith. Consistency, authenticity, and community have been everything. I’ve learned that influence isn’t about numbers, it’s about nurturing trust. When you show up in truth, the right audience shows up for you.

Q: What has been one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced during your career?
BB: Continuing to build while walking through cancer. It’s one thing to run a business when everything is smooth, but it’s another when you’re navigating surgeries, treatments, and uncertainty. That’s when my faith became real. God reminded me that I didn’t have to do it all, I just had to stay obedient. Virtue became my anchor through one of the hardest seasons of my life.

Q: Tell us more about your coaching business and how you help other small business owners like yourself.
BB: Through my coaching and consulting work, I help small business owners turn their experience and expertise into additional income streams, whether that’s mentorship, digital products, or automated sales. Small business owners are truly the heart of what I do. I grew up watching my parents run their own restaurant, and later I had the privilege of owning one with them. That experience gave me a lifelong respect for entrepreneurs who pour everything into their dreams. I love helping women like that find clarity and confidence in their next steps, especially those balancing motherhood, faith, and entrepreneurship the way I do.

Q: What advice would you give other women business owners when starting their own business?
BB: Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Obedience matters more than perfection. Start where you are with what you have, and trust that God will meet you there. God can’t bless what you don’t move on.

Find others who inspire you and study them. Put yourself in rooms where you can learn new skill sets, be open to evolving, and never stop growing. Q: If there was anything you could do differently during your career, what would that be?
BB: I would have trusted God’s timing and my own intuition sooner. For years I waited for perfect conditions or someone else’s permission to take the next step. Looking back, every nudge I ignored was an opportunity to grow. I’ve learned that when God plants a vision in your heart, it isn’t random; it’s an invitation to move. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to say yes.

Q: What is one word of advice you can offer to young women who want to reach your level of success?
BB: Be humble and don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Success is built one intentional step at a time. Stay grounded, keep learning, and remember that real growth happens when you lead with integrity and gratitude.

Q: Can you tell our audience one of your most memorable moments of your career?
BB: Having my father see me featured in a local magazine for the work I’ve done was one of the most special moments of my life. Seeing how proud he was, it felt like everything had come full circle. Growing up, I watched my parents work tirelessly as small business owners, and to now have them witness what I’ve built was incredibly meaningful. It was a reminder that every sacrifice, lesson, and late night along the way was worth it.

Q: At the start of your career, what do you wish you had known?
BB: That failure and redirection are both part of the journey. Every closed door was really a detour toward something better. I wish I’d known to thank God for both.

Q: Which woman inspires you and why?
BB: My mom. She taught me what faith in action looks like. Watching her run our family restaurant with grace, grit, and prayer showed me what it means to lead with both heart and hustle.

Q: What advice would you give to young women who want to pursue their dream and start a business?
BB: Start now and stay consistent. Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Begin with what you have and keep improving as you go. Get a mentor and invest in someone who has already gone before you. Learn from their experience, ask questions, and be open to feedback. Surround yourself with people who stretch you and keep you accountable. The more you stay curious and committed to growth, the more confident you’ll become in your vision.

Q: What advice would you give to young women who want to succeed in the workplace?
BB: Be teachable, dependable, and confident in who you are. Show up with excellence, even when no one is watching. When you lead with integrity and kindness, doors open that no one can close.

Q: After high school, where did you feel your career path would take you?
BB: Honestly, I didn’t know. I struggled for quite some time trying to figure it out, especially with ADHD. Traditional paths never felt like the right fit for me. I eventually found my direction through network marketing, and that space changed everything. It introduced me to personal development, mindset work, and mentorship. That’s where I started learning who I was, how to lead, and how to grow both personally and professionally. It became the foundation for everything I’ve built since.

Q: Can you tell us how you manage your work life balance?
BB: I’ve learned there really isn’t such a thing as work-life balance. There are just seasons. Some seasons require more from you in business, and others call you back to slow down and focus on family. What matters most is having boundaries, knowing your priorities, and learning to say no without guilt. I used to be such a people pleaser, and it led to burnout. Now I give myself permission to protect my peace and focus on what truly matters. That’s where the real balance is found.

Q: What's your advice for women in male-dominated fields?
BB: I’ve worked with a lot of men, especially when I owned my bar business, and I actually enjoy it. Men tend to cut to the chase, and there’s a lot you can learn from that kind of directness. Welcome working with strong men who challenge you and push you to grow but also be firm in your boundaries and use your voice. Confidence, clarity, and communication are everything. You don’t have to prove yourself….just show up with excellence and let your results speak for you.
